Facundo Yebne, known by his artistic name FLY, is a Miami-based visual artist originally from Argentina. Having called Miami home since 2007, his work is deeply rooted in the city's vibrant color, relentless energy, and multicultural spirit.
FLY creates art that explores unity, resilience, love, joy, and community. His practice spans mixed-media wall works, UV blacklight paintings, and monumental public sculpture. He is best known internationally for his large-scale installations assembled from thousands of mini rubber ducks.
His work has been exhibited across major Miami art fairs, in international biennales, and on the streets of Miami Beach. He has been commissioned by public institutions, corporate clients, and private collectors in the United States and abroad.
An Essay by FLY
Why Ducks?
"The rubber duck is the most democratic object in the world."
Every child, in every country, on every continent, has known the simple joy of a rubber duck. It does not speak any particular language. It carries no politics. It asks nothing of you. It simply floats, and it makes you smile.
When I build with ducks, I am not making a statement about toys. I am making a statement about people. Each duck is small, insignificant on its own. But together, thousands of them create something undeniable. Something that stops you. Something that makes you feel.
That is what community looks like. That is what resilience looks like. That is what love looks like when it scales. Individual pieces, different colors, different sizes, all moving in the same direction. Together they are bigger than the sum of their parts.
The ducks transcend language, culture, and age. When a 70-year-old banker and a 4-year-old child stand in front of one of my installations and both break into a smile at the same moment, that is the most honest form of art I know how to make.
