Inside Proud Love: The Story of the Pink Heart Sculpture
Of all the public pieces FLY Miami Art has placed on Lincoln Road, the one that stops the most strangers is Proud Love. The pink heart sculpture sits a short walk from UnityBeak and has become its own destination on the Miami Beach pedestrian route. This is the story behind it.
The brief Facundo gave himself
Proud Love started as a single question. What does love look like as a sculpture you can walk up to in public? Not a billboard. Not a slogan. A piece you could touch and stand inside.
The answer was a heart, scaled large, finished in a pink that reads on every camera and every skin tone. The proudness in the title is intentional. The piece is meant to be unembarrassed about what it is asking the viewer to feel.
How it was built
Like every FLY Miami Art piece, Proud Love began as a hand sculpted form, layered in resin, finished in custom color. The pink was tuned across three rounds of test pours before the final formula was approved. The piece was finished with the studio signature UV reactive layer, so on the right night the heart glows softly under blacklight.
Where to see it
Proud Love sits permanently on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, a short walk from UnityBeak. Both pieces are open to the public, free to visit at any hour, and easy to find on foot from the Lincoln Road Mall.
Why pink, why a heart
The two choices are connected. Pink is a color most public sculpture avoids because it reads as soft. Soft is exactly the point. A heart on a pedestrian street is a small dare to the viewer to slow down and feel something for a second.
Collecting a Proud Love piece
The original Proud Love is a permanent public installation. The studio releases related editions and smaller works in the same series across the year. Pink Proud Love is currently available as a wall piece in the FLY Miami Art catalog.
Why this piece anchors the brand
Proud Love is the simplest summary of what FLY Miami Art is trying to say. Make beautiful objects in public space. Use familiar forms. Let strangers carry the message home. Then build the next one.
Peace. Love. Joy. Unity.
